Viewing and Working with the MaSTR Audit Log
In MaSTR, a session is a temporary and interactive information interchange between the MaSTR server computer and a user. MaSTR records the following information for every API request during every MaSTR session that resulted in a change to the information in the MaSTR database for a user, analysis component such as a Profile file, or analysis and displays this information on the Audit Log page. From left to right, the following information is displayed for an entry in the MaSTR Audit log:
User: The username for the user who made the request.
Type: Either User, an analysis component, or Analysis.
Name: The name of the user (other than for Login or Logout), the analysis component, or analysis for which the request action, for example, the name of the user that was deactivated or the name of the Signal file that was created. If the action was a login or the logout by a user, then the Name field is blank.
Action: The specific action that was carried out in the request for the user, the analysis component, or the analysis, such as Deactivate for a user, or Create for an (Analysis) Signal file.
If the action permanently deleted the analysis component or analysis from the MaSTR database, then HardDelete is displayed in the Action column.
If the action deleted the analysis component or analysis only from the MaSTR UI and not from the MaSTR database (referred to as a Soft Delete), then Delete is displayed in the Name column.
If the action deleted a user or user role from the MaSTR database, then Delete is displayed in the Action column.
Time: The date and time that the request was made.
Collectively, this information is referred to as an audit log. As an Admin user, you can view the entire audit log up and to and including the current day’s date and time for a MaSTR installation on the Audit Log page. You can also use the Restore function that is available through the page to restore any component for which a (Soft) Delete action was carried out.
