To delete a frequency from the MaSTR Database
Note the following about deleting a frequency:
• If the frequency has been used in a DNA analysis, then a single Delete option (referred to as a “Soft” delete) is available. This option results in the removal of the frequency from the MaSTR UI, but not from the MaSTR database. An Admin user can use the Restore function that is available through the Audit trail to restore the deleted frequency to the MaSTR UI.
• If the frequency has not been used in a DNA analysis, then two options are available for deleting the frequency:
• Permanently Delete: Referred to as a “Hard” delete. Permanently removes the frequency from the MaSTR database. The component cannot be recovered.
• Delete: Referred to as a “Soft” delete. Removes the frequency from the MaSTR UI, but not from the MaSTR database. An Admin user can use the Restore function that is available through the Audit trail to restore the deleted frequency to the MaSTR UI.
