MaSTR Online Help : MaSTR DNA Analysis Components: Panel : Viewing the Information for a Panel
Viewing the Information for a Panel
The Panel Information page details information for a selected panel and provides access to the options for working with the panel. To open the Panel Information page for a panel, click the name of the panel on the Panel page. The Panel Information page is divided into two sections:
From top to bottom, the left section displays the following information for the panel: the panel name, the options for working with the selected panel such as downloading the panel for editing and deleting the panel, the panel creation date, the panel owner, and the panel status.
The right section consists of two tabs: the Markers tab (the tab that opens by default when the Panel Information page first opens) and the Alleles tab.
The Markers tab on the Panel Information page details the following properties for the STR markers in the panel:

Property
Description
Analytical Threshold
The peak height (RFU) lower limit to call a peak. Peaks that fall below the analytical threshold are not used in the analysis.
Nucleotide Repeats
Integer value. The length, in number of bp, of the repeat: 2 for a dinucleotide (for example, AC), 3 for a trinucleotide (for example, AAC), 4 for a tetranucletodie (for example, AGAT), and so on.
Enabled
Indicates whether the STR marker is used in the DNA analysis. True indicates that the marker is used in the analysis and False indicates that the nucleotide is not used.
Note: SoftGenetics disables all Y STR markers in all pre-loaded panels. Any panels that you upload to the MaSTR database should also have all their Y STR markers disabled.
Dye
The dye that is linked to the marker in the given PCR chemistry/kit.
The Alleles tab on the Panel Information page details the following properties for STR markers in the panel: all the alleles that are possible for the marker, and the size of each allele.
You can open a panel in MaSTR simply to view its information, or after viewing the information, you can download and edit the panel, edit the panel directly in MaSTR, change the panel status, or delete the panel. See:
