Adding a Panel to the MaSTR Database by Editing an Existing Panel
The panel that you use for a DNA analysis must contain all the alleles that are present in your sample. If none of the currently loaded panels in your MaSTR database contain all the sample alleles, then you must add a panel that contains the missing alleles to the MaSTR database. You add a new panel to the MaSTR database by editing an existing panel. You have two options for editing an existing panel in the MaSTR database.
You can download the panel, use a text editor to edit the information in the panel, and then save the panel with a unique name before you upload it to the MaSTR database.
You can use the Save As function on the Panel Information page to edit information for the panel directly in MaSTR and then save the panel with a unique name.
Because panel information is saved with a DNA analysis job, you can edit a panel without impacting any jobs that were previously run with the panel.

The Save As function provides limited editing options whereas downloading a panel for editing provides the most robust editing options. For assistance with editing a panel, contact tech_support@softgenetics.com.
