To review a panel before deleting
1. On the MaSTR main menu, click Panel.
The Panel page opens.
2. On the Panel page, click the name of the panel that you are reviewing.
The Panel Information page opens.
3. In the left section of the Panel Information page, click Save As.
The Panel Save As page opens.
4. Review the information for the panel, and then do one of the following:
If you decide not to delete the panel, then you can continue with your work in MaSTR.
If you decide to delete the panel, then continue to Step 5.
5. On the Panel Save As page, click Delete.
A Delete Panel page opens. The page displays the name of the selected panel.
If the panel has been used in a DNA analysis, then a single Delete option is available. Go to Step 4.
If the panel has not been used in a DNA analysis, then two options are available for deleting the panel: Permanently Delete and (Soft) Delete. Go to Step 5.
6. Click Delete.
The panel is deleted from the MaSTR UI but not from the MaSTR database. The Delete Panel page closes and you return to the Panel page. The panel is no longer listed as an entry on the page. An Admin user can use the Restore function that is available through the Audit trail to restore the deleted panel to the MaSTR UI.
7. Click Permanently Delete or Delete.
If you click Permanently Delete, then a message opens indicating that the deletion is permanent and asking you if you want to continue. After you click OK in the message, the message closes, and the panel is permanently deleted from the MaSTR database – it cannot be recovered. The Delete Panel page closes and you return to the Panel page. The panel is no longer listed as an entry on the page.
If you click Delete, then the panel is deleted from the MaSTR UI but not from the MaSTR database. The Delete Panel page closes and you return to the Panel page.
