To delete a system parameters set
You can delete a system parameters set only if the estimation of the set was successfully completed; otherwise, you must first cancel the job in progress, and then you can delete it.

To cancel an unsuccessful system parameters estimation, see To review and cancel a failed estimation job.
The options that are available for deleting a system parameters set differ based on whether the set has been used in an DNA analysis.
If the set has been used in a DNA analysis, then a single Delete option (referred to as a “Soft” delete) is available. This option results in the removal of the set from the MaSTR UI, but not from the MaSTR database. An Admin user can use the Restore function that is available through the Audit trail to restore the deleted set to the MaSTR UI.
If the set has not been used in a DNA analysis, then two options are available for deleting the set:
Permanently Delete: Referred to as a “Hard” delete. Permanently removes the parameters set from the MaSTR database. The component cannot be recovered.
Delete: Referred to as a “Soft” delete. Removes the parameters set from the MaSTR UI, but not from the MaSTR database. An Admin user can use the Restore function that is available through the Audit trail to restore the deleted set to the MaSTR UI.
1. On the MaSTR main menu, click System Parameters.
The System Parameters page opens.
2. On the System Parameters page, click the name of the system parameters set.
The System Parameters Information page opens.
3. In the left section of the System Parameters Information page, click Delete.
If the parameter set has been used in a DNA analysis, then a single Delete option is available. Go to Step 4.
If the parameters set has not been used in a DNA analysis, then two options are available for deleting the set: Permanently Delete and Delete.Go to Step 5.
4. Click Delete.
The parameters set is deleted from the MaSTR UI but not from the MaSTR database. The Delete System Parameters page closes and you return to the System Parameters page. The parameters set is no longer listed as an entry on the page. An Admin user can use the Restore function that is available through the Audit trail to restore the deleted panel to the MaSTR UI.
5. Click Permanently Delete or Delete.
If you click Permanently Delete, then a message opens indicating that the deletion is permanent and asking you if you want to continue. After you click OK in the message, the message closes, and the parameters set is permanently deleted from the MaSTR database – it cannot be recovered. The Delete System Parameters page closes and you return to the System Parameters page. The parameters set is no longer listed as an entry on the page.
If you click Delete, then the parameters set is deleted from the MaSTR UI but not from the MaSTR database. The Delete System Parameters page closes and you return to the System Parameters page. The set is no longer listed as an entry on the page. An Admin user can use the Restore function that is available through the Audit trail to restore the deleted set to the MaSTR UI.
